In this section our aim is to interview normal guys like you and me. We find out more about them – what they do for a living, their passions and interests and off course what got them into growing beards in the first place.
This month we feature Marius du Randt. Most guys would envy his job. He works for one of our favourite craft beer companies, but he is also a very nice guy!
Marius du Randt
1. What do you do for a living?
I am currently the Logistics Manager for a craft brewery in Paarl. I compile most orders here in the Western Cape and dispatch them to customers. I also manage the national distribution so that our fresh beers can be delivered to happy customers!
It has been a busy year with loads happening! In fact, the year has flown by so quickly that it is time for the annual Stellenberg Feesmark again!
We are working hard getting our products ready. Remember: it runs from 18 October – 4 November 2017. We also have some exciting news to share closer to the time and some great, fun giveaways – just in time for Christmas season.
It is the biggest market in the Western Cape, if not South Africa. So if you are looking for that something special, this is where you will find it.
So you have been toying with the idea of possibly, maybe, perhaps growing a beard, but it is never the right time.
Well, I am here to tell you that the time is now!
Winter is over and along with it the harsh effects as well. Your skin dries out a lot more in winter due to the cold air, extra hot showers stealing valuable skin oils and other things like diet and exercise.
Now that spring is here and your skin is returning to normal levels, why not put down your razor?
Start exercising, taking supplements and nourishing your skin to reclaim that damage caused by the chilly winds.
You thought normal dandruff is embarrassing ? Try beard dandruff!
And the problem is actually more common than you might think. Last week I got an email from one of our product users asking how to deal with it.
I will share how I dealt with mine (yes, it happens to the best of us!).
First we have to understand what happens:
Skin under the beard usually gets dry when natural oil of skin dries out, causing flaking. Dryness is responsible for itching and irritation to skin under beard. Cold and dry weather can also be causes of dry and flaky skin.
The other cause is normally the result of moisture build-up close to skin, causing a fungal type growth or reaction to occur. (My beard normally goes through this phase at the start and end of winter during the change of seasons).
